Still, there is something sophisticated and classic about black & whites. The photographer and I wanted to emulate an Old Hollywood glamorous shot. Sort of Marilyn, but still an air of timelessness.

The light and shadows playing off her face show a doe eyed young women, a bit timid, but sensual in her own right.

The hair, actually a wig was coifed and fit the image perfectly.

This was one of the funnest shoots I was apart of. The photographer and I collaborated perfectly and created a look we both could express in words, and then made come to life in Hannah.

We had the color scheme in mind, pink and black. We also new we would use the silver metal background, so the makeup needed to reflect a futuristic element. At this point, it was all about letting my imagination go to design a look that would be unique and beautiful.

The lips were lined in black liner, a pink shadow was applied to the center, and an opalescent lip gloss on top of the shadow.

Red is an amazingly enhancing color for the model, Irene. The red scarf pops the green in her hazel eyes. I wanted to go with a deep ruby red for her lips.

To get that perfectly defined lip line, you must first lay the foundation. I use a concealer to go around the top outer line of the lip, and the sides of the bottom lip, not under the center though.

I blend the concealer with a sponge in a circular motion, into the skin and into the lip, to fill in any lines in the lip. Next, I draw with a pencil one shade darker than the lip color I will put on top. Draw to make the lips proportioned and balanced, even if that means over or under drawing.

Then fill in with a ruby lip color, I like matte or creme lipsticks, you can always add shimmer and shine after. Top with a sheer red gloss, I used one with gold and red shimmer in it to really amp up the effect!
